About Kiroro
One of Hokkaido's lesser-known gems, Kiroro is one of the world's snowiest resorts, averaging 21 metres of fluffy snowfall each winter. It's renowned for its quiet slopes, which means zero lift queues and perfect skiing conditions on and off-piste.
From wide, open slopes for beginners to tight tree runs and backcountry ski touring for experts, the terrain is suitable for all ability levels.
There are 23 well-groomed marked pistes, ranging from beginner to advanced, and four world-class (and lots of fun) designated tree runs: Asari, Yoichi, Centre and Nagamine. White birch trees pepper these slopes, with branches stretching overhead to provide a clear view ahead and an exhilarating, easy-going weave to the bottom.
You can expect an average of five powder days per week in January and February and three in March, and with so few skiers and snowboarders on the slopes, you'll be finding fresh tracks right through to the last run of the day.
For rest days or more ways to keep the kids happy, activities in Kiroro include snow tubing, snow rafting, mini snowmobiles, snow buggies and cross-country skiing.
