Snow Report: 40+ Resorts Open Thanks to Sensational Snowfall

Rollo Squire Headshot

Back in early November, we reported the incredible amounts falling across North America. Since then, the snow has only come thicker and faster - with over 40 resorts open by December and some opening with serious powder days. So fasten your seatbelts, we could be in for a special winter ahead!

Our first customers are already out skiing in Norway and our team will soon be hitting the slopes too. We're heading to Japan on Friday and then Canada on Monday. Make sure you're following us on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates!

Canada

Canada has had a stormer of a November. We've seen some huge snow totals already, not least in Whistler (256cm) and Revelstoke (344cm), both opening with deep powder days. These are some of the best early-season conditions we've seen in Canada, and we’re super excited to see what the rest of winter has in store.

111 of our 17 resorts in Canada are already open, and the resorts yet to open aren't lacking in snow either - Whitewater has amassed a whopping 281cm, while the other five are all over a metre. In fact, RED Mountain Resort is opening this weekend and has just had its second snowiest Novemeber in 19 years!

Here's how some resorts across Canada are looking:

USA

It’s a similarly snowy story south of the border in the USA. 20 of our 22 resorts are already open - with the final two to follow in four days time. And the numbers are mindblowing, with the highlights including Timberline (337cm), Mt. Bachelor (304cm), Alyeska (297cm), Mt. Hood Meadows (243cm) and Breckenridge (213cm). But the stats don't stop there - Mammoth had its snowiest November in 14 years and Deer Valley opened on Thanksgiving weekend for the first time in its history.

It'll come as no shock to hear that it's powder galore at the moment. It's the perfect start to the season, and it's looking like the USA might just be the place to go for a ski holiday this winter.

Most resorts opened this weekend with limited terrain, but we don't think it will be long before more lifts are spinning - there's snow in the forecast every day this week. One to keep an eye on!
